  • Apple shippers are still packing 2017/2018 storage Reds, Granny and Fuji.
  • Gala supplies continue to increase each week, as more continue to be harvested. Sizing is up.
  • New crop Golds, Honeycrisp, & new crop early Fuji are beginning to become available.
  • There are still a few NZ imports available from a few shippers in WA trying to clean them up.
  • Word from the orchards on apple sizing is the 2018/2019 apples are 1-2 sizes larger than the sizes the 2017/2018 crop offered.
  • New crop Braeburn, Granny, Jonagolds, & Pink Lady to come in the end of September into October.

  • PNW market continues to be active on Jumbo Yellows and the market is holding for the most part.

  • Eastern WA continues with NICE Yellow & Red potatoes along with Fingerlings. Prices are attractive.    
  • Organic Red and Yellow along with Fingerlings are available in Eastern WA now.
  • Mt. Vernon District growers are packing.  Good volume now with nice looking spuds. 
  • White potatoes are available but most growers say sizing on all colors is peaking on A so far. Fingerlings available here as well.

  • Market is somewhat steady.  Idaho is pushing prices down again this week.
  • Many WA growers are pushing for storage and slowing production to cover only what they need to get by. 
  • The low pricing is surprising especially with many growers thinking there may be lighter yields and ultimately shorter supplies than last several years. 
  • The final USDA storage reports in November will tell the tale. 
  • One bright side is that off shore sales from WA are bringing two to three dollars higher than the domestic market will pay.
  • Idaho has a good supply of New Crop Norkotahs as well.  They continue to peak on Larger sizes and prices show it.
  • Prices are weak on cartons, consumer pack pricing is firm on tighter supplies. Organics are available.

  • Strawberries- supplies are leveling off with plants starting to get tired. Better sizing and quality.
  • Raspberries- tight supplies for the next month, Organics are slightly higher then forecasted.

  • Avocado supplies are improving out of Mexico with Calif still winding down their season fast. This is helping to bring down market prices on all but large fruit.

  • Demand is still strong out of all areas.

  • Mexico crossing green and hard fruit so be prepared for a little more ripening time. Oil content is just hitting maturity standards so flavor is light.

  • Peaking 48/70/60s. This will continue to improve weekly as they get into their fall crop.

  • Currently projecting a good size crop so start thinking holiday ads.

  • California winding down fast and expected to finish with light numbers the end of the month. Most of the fruit still remaining is in the 48/60/70s. Fruit is firm, ripening fast; with nice oil content to offer up great eating flavor.

  • Chile is arriving with light numbers. Maturity is there... flavor profiles will improve as supplies increase.

  • Market is still up but has stabilized. We are starting to see some improvement as District 3 gets underway.

  • Get your orders in early and be prepared to pro-rations and cuts on domestic.

  • Imports are the reason for improved supplies, with good supplies of Chilean fruit. This is heavy to fancy where as Mexico is mostly choice/standard. Both are peaking 140/165/200 and expected to continue through mid-October.

  • Cantaloupe volume is still sizing heavy to 12s and larger; 15/18s remain tight. Volume is good. Market is steady; although, there are some deals on big fruit if you can take volume. 
  • The Westside in full swing. Interior/exterior color nice, solid centers, and eating well.
  • Honeydew market gaining a little strength with mostly supplies of 5/6. This sizing is expected to continue through the month.

  • Color and condition are good to excellent.

  • Mixed Melons are all but finished for the season. Look for them to start back in late October out of the desert for a short window of opportunity.

  • Valencia are peaking 72/56 and they eat well.  Fruit is being picked as fast as they can but sizing is not good. 
  • Demand and markets are up with school demand on small fruit -- 138/113.
  • This situation will remain extremely limited and just get tighter through mid-October. Some customers are trying to move into 88s to fill their needs.
  • Market on small fruit is strong and firm and jumping weekly. You will see some condition issues -- softness/occasional decay/scarring. Quality is just fair and will only get worse over the next month. If you want to find problems you will.
  • Now is the time to think about alternatives -- maybe even consider some offshore tangerines?? for your small fruit needs.

  • Peaches/Nectarines are packing out 48s and larger tray packs with good volume.  Color is very nice and the fruit eats great.
  • Prices are fairly reasonable on the Yellow flesh and still stronger on White - sub acid fruit. Conditioned fruit is now available.
  • We have good supplies and various packs of Arils (Pomegranate seeds). We can offer a variety of pack sizes packed to order. 
  • Pomegranates are going peaking 36's and smaller at this time.   Early Foothills are starting up with a nice red exterior.
  • Plums good color and nice flavor.  Good supplies of Red & Blacks with sizing ranges 60-35's.
  • Pluots! we have Red/Black/Mottled varieties available in 2 layer packs.
