Body
  • Movement on the few remaining varieties of apples continues to be steady, as we move to the end of the 2016 crop season.
  • Condition on the fruit has still been good. Mainly Red del, Fuji, & Pink Lady are left. A few shippers are still packing the last of the granny smith.
  • We will begin the 2017 crop next week with Ginger Golds. We may see the beginning of the Gala crop more next week.
  • Some varieties are having their harvest date pushed back trying to get better sugar (brix) & size.
  • We anticipate another larger crop, but it will be down from the 2016 crop.
  • Sizing for the 2017 crop will have more choices than the 2016 crop. Estimates are that most varieties are 2 sizes smaller on the average.
