  • Market is somewhat steady on light supplies of yellows in the NW.  Whites are almost finished. 

  • Reds are available but in few hands.  Red Mediums are extremely tight.  Quality remains good on Storage onions. 

  • Lower Rio Grande onions are in good supply with demand.  Whites available but very spendy. 

  • Imperial desert Brawley to begin harvest as early as the week of the 22nd.  This will flatten out the playing field. and bring more needed supply. 

  • >>NOTE about LATE PLANTING; Planting has finally begun in the NW.

  • Look for later than normal harvest next fall due to snow covered fields late in the spring.

  • A delay of 1 to 3 weeks may not be out of the question. Look for later than normal harvest next fall.

  • Mt. Vernon District - good supplies of Reds and Yellows. Heavy to the size A this season.
  • Whites surprisingly, are still available but are in few hands. Good quality and excellent color on Red, Yellow and Purple.
  • Whites are finished for the season. Quality is good on all. All four colors including. Fingerlings will be finished within 3 weeks.
  • Eastern WA has a few storage yellows. California has smatterings of whites with better volume of yellow and reds onions now. 
  • Idaho is in good supply of nice Reds and yellows.

  • Cartons remain strong again this week.
  • Consumers continue to weaken as Idaho runs small profile Burbanks that produce more bales than cartons.
  • 100 and 90ct sizes are a good value with ample supplies.
  • Consumer prices are steady to lower on good supplies and projected to stay that way for the foreseeable future. 
  • Washington has larger size profile with good demand across all sizes especially on large cartons.
  • Russet organics are available in most districts. Overall quality is excellent in all growing districts this season.

  • Mexico's overall crossing/picking numbers last week were down (as was expected). 

  • The markets is strong but not jumping as it was two weeks ago. 

  • Demand continues strong with fruit peaking 48/40 and quality is good to excellent.  Look for this market to remain strong for the time being. 

  • Calif has started harvest.  Sizing profile will be predominantly 48/40's at this time.  This fruit is hard green and slow to turn due to lower oil content. 

  • Please note that due to the wet weather:

  • You may see increase in lenticel damage for the next month or so (this is a external issue only and won't effect the eating quality). 

  • Market like that of Mexico is strong at this time and expected to remain this way through mid to late May.

  • Import Grapes are from Chile & Peru.
  • Supplies are good on the Red Seedless, and expected to continue with this fruit available until late May at this rate. 
  • Green Seedless on the other hand are short in supply.
  • Market is on fire, and quality is just so so (if you want an issue you will find it in Green seedless).  
  • Mexico is the next growing region and at this time looking to start a little behind schedule this year in early May. 
  • They will be followed (or at the same time) by Coachella in mid May.   We will keep you posted.

  • Lemon seeing fair supplies harvesting.  Fruit is peaking on 115/140's. 

  • With everyone on the hunt for 165 and smaller.  This small fruit will remain tight through the summer so get ready for high markets.

  • Market and demand are up. Quality is good with clean pack outs.  Lemons like the Oranges showing the occasional issues.

  • Meyer Lemons are still available but starting to show age being packed 1#/ 2#/ 10#/20# and 38# units.  Call for availability and pricing.

  • Cantaloupe supplies on the West coast are down which is pushing market up again. 
  • This is expected to stay strong through the end of the month. We are seeing mostly 9/12's. 
  • Quality good on all offshore (Honduras / Costa Rica/ Guatemala) with color light tan side and eating well.  
  • Look for Mexico to start crossing again as well as the Desert to harvest between May 5-10th.  Quality overall has been good to excellent.
  • Honeydew supplies are plentiful with increased numbers arriving from Mexico.   Market is steady but trying to strengthen. 
  • Overall quality is good with excellent sugar/flavor.   Some fruit showing occasional sugar spots mostly this is on the offshore.

  • Navel have good sugar and color.   Sizing 72/88 with small sizes now on the light side. 
  • Market in general is soft.  Quality has been good but with all the rains we are seeing an occasional fuzz ball pop up on receiving.
  • Starting to see some early Valencia harvesting and packing, predominately for export.
  • Cara Cara oranges are peaking 88's similar to Navels. This variety is looking very nice and eating well this year.
  • Packing mostly in 1/2 cartons but full cartons are available on request. 
  • Market here remains strong due to limited supplies and is expected to wind down over the next 2-3 weeks.
  • Blood Oranges are packing up in 1/2 cartons. Exterior color looking nice with deep interior color.  They are on the small side peaking 113/138/88. 
  • Look for them to finish up over the next 2-3 weeks.

  • Calif Ruby Grapefruit peaking 32 & larger, color is improving and supplies are expected for a few months.
  • Look for light supplies of Organic out of southern Calif. 
  • Mandarins (Delite / Gold Nuggets and Pixies) are going and are peaking around a 36 size.... large fruits are being snapped up by retailers.
  • Very good supplies this year.  Market is steady. 
  • Note the big 10/3 & 15/2 "players" are looking to finish up in the next few weeks due to quality in the fields. 
  • We should however continue to have product available into early May.

    • California fruit tree Clock is ticking to stone fruit starting early May.
    • Peach/ Nectarines anticipating harvest starting between 5-15th of may. 
    • Warm weather this last weekend should help size and sugar levels stretch toward maturity. 
    • With all the weather we have had over the last month we expect volume to be down and scaring/skin blemishes to be more prevalent. 
    • Cherries expecting to see fruit available out of Central Calif the first week of May with Brooks, Corals and Tulare varieties. 
    • This crop is currently looking to be abundant.... but weather could change that in an instant.
    • Plums fruit set appears to be very good at this time.
    • Like other fruit we will see some scaring (more packed to utility grade possibly) due to winds and weather. 
    • Not expecting to see Plums get going until late May.
    • We have supplies and various packs of Arils (Pomegranate seeds) now packing from Peru with Chilean fruit next week.
    • We can offer a variety of pack sizes packed to order.
    • Asian Pears are available in single layer packs from Chile call for varieties and sizing.
    • Off shore Chlie Tree fruit loading in LA area with consolidation in Central Calif with notice on full pallet quantities with mostly only Plums left to ship.
    • Market continues firm.
